The idea behind Homegrown is simple: to get our community aware and excited about the original music offered in DuPage County. Homegrown will showcase two stages of original live music, local art vendors, and promoted on local radio stations and news media. DuPage County doesn’t have anything like this and many people/organizations are backing up the idea. All bands bringing our fanbases together to create a day of celebration and community united by the common love of music and the arts.
Skyline Music Entertainment has one purpose for Homegrown: To throw an amazing party that will have a lasting positive impact on the artists involved and our scene. The spirit of the fest is to bring music fans to the venue and expose the amazing art and music we have to offer. We are forming a very strong lineup, with the effort of everyone involved; we can each utilize the idea of Homegrown to heighten the music and our scene in a big way.
This year all bands will be filmed for the upcoming Rockumentary by local filmmaker Ashley Dallman, titled- Homegrown: The Movie. Documentation of the growth of Homegrown over its 5-year period. All bands including this year’s lineup will be featured in the film as will all acts from year’s past.
The Daily Herald, WGN Radio, and Chicago Tribune all promote the festival, aiding in our 1000+ yearly turnout. Homegrown is truly a collaboration from all local outlets and talents to heighten the musicians and celebrate talent from DuPage County.
With 20 hungry bands, 15 talented art vendors, 10 solo musicians, the venue, and the Homegrown Team, along with local press and radio all contributing together to create a huge celebration of original local music/art like no other. The opportunity to make new fans and unifying a tight nit music community is priceless. Above all it’s going to be an amazing time.
